Here we collected air and surface samples from isolation wards and ICU units of a tertiary hospital in Wuhan, with the aim to evaluate environmental contamination after enhancement of infection prevention and control measures (IPC) during the COVID-19 pandemic. We also compared environmental contamination of low-and high-touch surfaces, patient hands and PPE of HCP, and the results were also linked to clinical data of sampling patients. Another study found only 1 out of 14 surgical masks worn by mild and severe COVID-19 patients tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 .
