In accordance with previous literature [21] , if this three-class model fits the data, we hypothesize that: (a) Adaptive Perfectionists would experience the highest levels of autonomous motivation (i.e., Intrinsic, Integrated, and Identified); (b) Maladaptive Perfectionists would show more controlled motivation (i.e. Introjected, External, and Amotivation), and (c) Non-Perfectionists would report the lowest levels of both autonomous and controlled motivation.
