This review explores various drugs and their mechanism of action which are either currently being used in clinical trials or may be used in the future for the treatment of COVID-19. Since the emergence of the virus in China in December of 2019, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has spread across the globe resulting in the current global pandemic.
