Conclusion Inflammatory markers are a useful guide for predicting mortality, and the study results concluded that LDH, PCT, D-dimer, CRP, and ferritin were effective biomarkers. This study aims to identify the roles of these biomarkers (CRP, ferritin, LDH, PCT, and Ddimer), among others, in predicting the severity and clinical outcome during the disease. A study undertaken in Wuhan, China, that evaluated the clinical characteristics of COVID-19 patients also found an important association of CRP with severe disease prognosis.
