In order to check the reaction of EBN extract with influenza viruses, we used the human influenza virus strain A/Aichi/2/68 (H3N2), which bound to both sialyl ␣2-3 and ␣2-6 galactose linkages in salylglycoproteins and sialylglycolipids, and carried out an SDS-PAGE Western blotting assay to analyze the glycoprotein molecules.
