In contrast, the inhibition of the NLRP3 inflammasome signaling pathway reduces infarct size and preserves cardiac function via attenuating cardiomyocyte pyroptosis in post-MI mice [10] [11] [12] . Moreover, KLX significantly suppressed the expression of the NLRP3 inflammasome, the release of the pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-1β and IL-18 and pyroptotic cell death in both an in vivo model of MI and an in vitro model of ischemic injury by hypoxia or LPS (Fig. 6) .
