The main error refers to the “log-likelihood” term in equations (4), (5), (34), which is shown as approximated by using the sum squared error (SSE) but in our simulations it was actually approximated by using the square root of the SSE and all the results presented in the paper are obtained in that way. Using the square root of the SSE in the log-likelihood term in the Eq. (5) has the same effect as when increasing its model-complexity penalty term by a factor of 2. A couple of other less significant errors are also corrected. The corrections are outlined below: • The first error is located at page 246, in the right side of Eq. (4), where the sum squared error should be replaced by its square root, and the Eq.
