Wells's The Time Machine. It was a modernization of the Wells's story, making the Time Traveller a 1970s scientist working for a fictional US defence contractor, "the Mega Corporation". Classics Illustrated was the first to adapt The Time Machine into a comic book format, issuing an American edition in July 1956.
