By "competencies" we mean foundational digital skills that provide both a practical and critical understanding of digital technologies (See Bryn Mawr's Digital Competencies for more information). In addition to a librarian-led session on the mechanics of the platform, students learn about critical approaches to metadata and must include a reflective analysis on the potential for bias in their choice of descriptive keywords and subject terms. This assignment has students engaging with multiple digital competencies: managing a digital identity, privacy, and security; collaborative communication; and digital writing and publishing. "Lesson plans" are activities, basic exercises, assignments, project instruction, and the like that are used in situations ranging from one-off library sessions to multi-day workshops to semester-long courses. ./cache/dlfteach-pubpub-org-5025.html ./txt/dlfteach-pubpub-org-5025.txt
