This portal is designed to provide tools for both instructors and students who want to work with Story Maps, but who do not have an extensive background in GIS or digital projects more generally. This need was addressed by the efforts of a team of researchers and educators from across the University of Minnesota, whose work has culminated in this site. With the assistance of an Academic Innovation Grant from the College of Liberal Arts, this team worked with a variety of instructors to develop resources to enable them to teach with Story Maps.
