          On the eve of a crucial report to the United Nations on weapons inspections in Iraq, and as President Bush attempts to build support for war, the University of Notre Dame’s Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies has released a report that shows UN inspections are achieving progress toward the disarmament of Iraq. The report highlights the security benefits of the ongoing inspection process and concludes that war is unnecessary.p. “UN Weapons Inspections in Iraq: A Progress Report” is being released by the Sanctions and Security Project of the Kroc Institute and the Fourth Freedom Forum. The report chronicles the first two months of inspections activity by the United Nations Monitoring, Verification, and Inspection Commission (UNMOVIC) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).p.
