Gilroy Senior student wins Cooke graduate scholarshipp. University of Notre Dame senior Luke McLaurin has received one of only 43 Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Scholarships awarded nationally. The scholarships provide up to $50,000 annually to graduating seniors for up to six years of graduate or professional studies. McLaurin, an Italian studies and philosophy major from South Bend who was graduated on May 18, will pursue a master’s degree in Italian studies at Notre Dame. After he completes his master’s degree, he will pursue a doctorate in philosophy and an academic career.p.
