Sponsored by the University’s Department of Music and the office of Student Affairs, the concert is open to the public and will be one of several engagements by the quartet at Notre Dame and in South Bend. Tickets are $5 and available at the LaFortune Student Center box office.p. Formerly known as the Chaminade String Quartet, the Marian Anderson String Quartet is named after the famous African-American contralto. It was the first African-American ensemble in history to win a classical music competition, placing first at the International Cleveland Quartet Competition in 1991.p.
