John W. Thompson, chairman and chief executive officer of Symantec Corp. and honorary degree recipient, will address the assembly. Since 1999, Thompson has grown Symantec from a small consumer software publisher to a global leader in infrastructure software and information security management systems.Recognized as an authority on information security systems, Thompson was appointed by President Bush in 2002 to the National Infrastructure Advisory Committee to make recommendations on the security of the infrastructure of the U.S. The Mendoza College of Business undergraduate recognition ceremony for accountancy, marketing, management and finance majors will be held Friday (May 16) from 2 to 4:30 p.m. in the Joyce Center arena.
