Bradley The St. Thomas More Society of the Diocese of Dallas will honor Notre Dame Law Professor Gerard V. Bradley with its Lifetime Achievement Award this weekend. The Society will present Bradley with the award on Saturday at a reception after the annual Red Mass in Dallas. The award is presented each year to a lawyer who has demonstrated conspicuous virtue. Previous recipients include the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and former Illinois Congressman Henry Hyde. “I am both honored and humbled that the Catholic lawyers of Dallas have chosen me to receive their annual award,” Bradley said. “My wife, Pam, and I are looking forward to the occasion, and especially to meeting Bishop Edward J. Burns, who will be celebrating the Red Mass.” Bradley joined the Notre Dame Law School faculty in 1992. He teaches Legal Ethics and Constitutional Law, and is an international leader in the areas of natural law, religious liberty, and legal philosophy. He also directs the Natural Law Institute with John M. Finnis, the Biolchini Family Professor of Law at Notre Dame, and co-edits The American Journal of Jurisprudence, an international forum for legal philosophy. Bradley has published more than 100 scholarly articles as well as several books. In 2018, Cambridge University Press will publish a volume of essays on Catholic Social Teaching that Bradley co-edited. Originally published by Kevin Allen at law.nd.edu on October 10, 2017.
