John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., president of the University of Notre Dame, has asked that the Notre Dame community keep Daniel Kim and his family in their thoughts and prayers. Kim, 21, a sophomore business major from Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, passed away at his off-campus residence, where he was found early Friday afternoon (Feb. 6). “We are deeply saddened to learn of Daniel’s passing and extend our condolences to his family and friends,” Father Jenkins said. “My prayers are with them during this difficult time.” A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9 p.m. Monday (Feb. 9) in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. Father Jenkins will preside and Rev. Pete McCormick, C.S.C., director of Campus Ministry, will preach. The University Counseling Center and Campus Ministry are available to offer their support to members of the Notre Dame community.
