John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., president of the University of Notre Dame, has asked that the Notre Dame community keep Michael Thigpen and his family in their thoughts and prayers. Thigpen, a first-year master’s degree student in the Global Health Program from Monument, Colo., passed away unexpectedly at his off-campus residence, where he was found early Tuesday morning (Nov. 13). “Our deepest condolences are with Michael’s family, friends and colleagues,” Father Jenkins said. “My prayers are with them during this difficult time.” Thigpen will be remembered during a Mass at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 14) at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. The University Counseling Center and Campus Ministry are available to offer their support to members of the Notre Dame community.
