          The relationship between the construction of viable democracies and the pursuit of retrospective justice is explored in a new book edited by A. James McAdams, professor of government and international studies at the University of Notre Dame. The book is “essential reading for anyone concerned with and committed to the furtherance of democracy and human rights,” says Justice Richard J. Goldstone, a judge on the Constitutional Court of South Africa and former chief prosecutor of the Bosnian war crimes tribunal.p.
