The third annual Summer Shakespeare activity features a new event for young local actors called “ShakeScenes.”p. More than 80 professional actors from 10 states auditioned for roles in “The Tempest,” which will be directed by Gavin Cameron-Webb, artistic director of The Studio Arena Theatre of Buffalo, N.Y. The cast includes Roger Forbes of the Royal National Theatre of Great Britain as Prospero, and Kate McClaine, a five-year veteran of the Oklahoma Shakespeare Company, as Ariel. Returning Summer Shakespeare cast members are Martin Yurek of The Chicago Shakespeare Theatre and Hollis and Mark McCarthy, who performed in last year’s production of “The Taming of the Shrew.”p.
