Jenkins, C.S.C., president of the University of Notre Dame, issued the following statement about the shootings Monday (April 16) at Virginia Polytechnic Institute andStateUniversity: We grieve along with our brothers and sisters at Virginia Tech for those who died or were injured in yesterdays horrific events. We pray for eternal rest for those who died, and pray also that Gods love and ours may give understanding and consolation to those who survived. A memorial mass for the victims of the Virginia Tech tragedy will be offered at 10 p.m. Tuesday (April 17) at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on campus.
