The conference opens at noon in the Carey Auditorium in the Hesburgh Library with an announcement of the winners of the Library Undergraduate Research Award. Marianne Cusato, a 1997 graduate of Notre Dame’s School of Architecture, will deliver the keynote talk. Cusato is a thought leader in the fields of architectural and urban design. Ranked the No. 4 most influential person in the home building industry in Builder magazine’s annual “Power on 50” list, Marianne is well-known for her work on the Katrina Cottages, which won the Smithsonian Institute’s Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum’s People’s Design Award. Special tracks this year will highlight interdisciplinary research in international development, nano science and technology, and gender studies. Students will present at DeBartolo Hall, Jordan Hall of Science and the Library Concourse. Additional information including a complete conference schedule is available here.
