Borjas, a Harvard University professor and renowned expert on immigration, will discuss the economics of immigration and immigration policy March 14 (Friday) as part of the Ten Years Hence speaker series at the University of Notre Dames Mendoza College of Business. The talk will take place from 10:40 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. in the Jordan Auditorium in Mendoza and is free and open to the public. A signature series of the Mendoza College, Ten Years Hence is sponsored by the O’Brien-Smith Leadership Program endowment. Series speakers explore issues, ideas and trends likely to affect business and society during the next decade, such as globalization, global security, energy and the environment. Borjasresearch on the economic impact of immigration is perceived widely as playing a central role in the debate over immigration policy in the United States and abroad. Immigration has been a focal point on campus this academic year and was the topic of the Notre Dame Forum, an annual event that enhances Notre Dames mission as a Catholic university.
