Garvey Jay P. Dolan, professor emeritus of history at the University of Notre Dame, will receive the Catholic Library Associations Jerome Award for outstanding contributions to Catholic scholarship.He will be honored at the associations annual convention April 20 inAtlanta. Dolan, who joined the Notre Dame faculty in 1971, founded the UniversitysCushwaCenterfor the Study of American Catholicism in 1975 and served as its director until 1993.He has taught courses in American Catholic history, American religious history, immigration history, and Irish American history.His principal research interests are the history of American Catholicism and the history of Irish America.
