Gallivan Program in Journalism, Ethics and Democracy will host a public forum on changes in journalism Oct. 2 (Monday) at 3 p.m. in the auditorium of the UniversitysHesburghCenterfor International Studies.The event is free and open to the public. TitledDecade Past, Decade Future: Journalism Copes with Constant Change,the forum will give participants an opportunity to engage in dialogue concerning the changes within journalism over the past 10 years and what to expect in the decade ahead. Members of the Gallivan Program advisory committee, which consists of Notre Dame alumni who work in the media, will be among the featured speakers. The Gallivan Program was established in 1997 through a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and continued with an endowment made by the family of Notre Dame alumnus John W. Gallivan.The Gallivan Program is an undergraduate concentration for Notre Dame students interested in pursuing careers in print and broadcast journalism.The program sponsors classes, internships, publications and campus visits of prominent journalists as part of its work.
